As a pandemic continues and institutions opt to require proof of vaccination, having an easy way to store and present this proof is a boon for consumers.

The Wallet app on iPhone and Apple Watch is the perfect destination and there’s a San Francisco startup with HIPAA experience that can serve as the preferred generator of your vaccination passport card.

VaxYes

GoGetDoc, a healthcare innovation startup, created a “simple but powerful digital wallet vaccine solution” to help people “save, verify, and use their vaccine cards.” That solution is VaxYes.

Simply photograph your vaccine card, verify the vaccination info, and get a card you can add to your digital wallet. It takes all of about two minutes.

Register

Visit VaxYes to get started. Enter your phone number, receive and enter a verification code, then your name and birthdate.

When prompted, photograph your vaccination card and state ID. Depending on your iPhone model, you might need to turn the device landscape to see the shutter button. Then, verify the date(s) and lot number(s) of your shot(s).

Add to Wallet

Your digital card is instantly available. Just tap the Add to Wallet button on iPhone. Use the Watch app to add to Apple Watch wallet, too.

Not long after, you’ll receive a Level 2 verification. I haven’t yet received verification at Levels 3 or 4, so I don’t know how long they might take.

That’s it! Access your wallet like usual by double-clicking the Home Button or Side Button on iPhone or Apple Watch. Scroll to find your card. You can also rearrange your cards in the Wallet app.
