Do you have an Apple Magic Keyboard, Magic Trackpad, or Magic Mouse with a built-in rechargeable battery? Ever need to pair it with a different Mac? It’s really easy!

Just Plug It In

To change the Mac paired with one of Apple’s “Magic” input devices, just connect any Lightning cable between the device and the Mac. Yep, that’s the same cable you use to recharge the input device — or any iPhone, an AirPods case, many iPads, etc. That’s it!

Need Proof?

Take a look in the Bluetooth menu, the Bluetooth section of Control Center, or the Bluetooth pane of System Preferences and you’ll instantly find that the Magic device is now paired with the Mac you just connected — and charging.

… and Explore the Choices

Just like a web browser, you can go back and forward to panes you’ve visited using the buttons on the toolbar. You can also click the button to the right with the rows of squares to return to the main view showing all the panes or press it (click and hold) to jump to a specific pane.

Nearly all controls are dynamic; that is, they take effect immediately and there is rarely a need to press OK or Apply. Some panes are locked to restrict editing; click the lock and enter admin credentials to unlock.

What will you do with all the extra time you saved trying to figure this out?
