Did you get caught by your Mac saying you can’t print because your HP software is malware? Apparently, HP instructed Apple to revoke a certification that validated the software. But there’s an easy fix.

Remove the Printer

Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners. Select your HP printer that stopped working and click the minus () button at the bottom. Delete the printer. (Leave this window open.)

Delete Old Software

Go to the Finder and choose Computer from the Go menu. Navigate to Library > Printers. Move the hp folder to the Trash. Enter your computer password to authorize this.

Add the Printer

Back in Printers & Scanners preferences, click the plus (+) button to add a printer. Choose your printer that you just deleted and add it again.

If this process doesn’t go as smoothly as I’ve described, give me a call and I’ll help you resolve the issue.
