With holiday sales over the past couple months, a lot of folks got some sweet deals on new Macs. I regularly refer clients to Apple for certified refurbished Macs and sometimes to other vendors for used and third-party refurbished options.

Migrating Data

If you have a new Mac on your desk (or lap), what next? Most folks migrate their data from the previous computer.

From a Mac, this is easiest with a Time Machine backup. (I hope you’re backing up on a drive like this.) From a PC, it’s a bit more challenging.

If you don’t have space on the new Mac for everything and need to do a more piecemeal transfer, you’d probably benefit from my guidance. One way or another, you’ll likely appreciate some insight on how to set up your Mac in the best way.
